CONSCIOUSNESS-FOCUSED MUSIC GROUP
UNLEASHED DREAMS UNLEASHES
POWERFUL DEBUT ALBUM
DARE TO DREAM
Unleashed Dreams is a consciousness-focused singer-songwriter duo specializing in epic, new age, neo-classical and world music with pop influences. Their debut album, Dare To Dream, is part of their mission to create epic music and songs to empower people to transform their lives, live their dreams and have greater self-awareness, optimism, happiness and peace.
The duo is Lindsey Gaye Walker (a British/Canadian singer-songwriter, and transformational life coach) and Sean Michael Paddison (a Canadian pianist/keyboardist, composer and music arranger/producer/ engineer). They are joined on the recording by special guest artists, some of the top talent in Canada. Three-fourths of the compositions on Dare To Dream are vocal pieces mixed with three instrumentals.
Dare To Dream CDs and digital download tracks can be purchased at the group’s website, www.UnleashedDreams.com, throughout 2017. Beginning in 2018, the music also will be available for sale at CDbaby, iTunes, Amazon and other online sales sites.
“Most of our songs,” explains Sean, “are constructed from more than 150 individually recorded tracks and some songs contain over 300 tracks. Sometimes we record more than a thousand takes and then pick the best ones.” This meticulous dedication to detail results in a powerful, full-bodied, multi-dimensional sound that envelopes the listener.
“Our vision,” says Lindsey, “is to be part of the global movement that is helping to raise human consciousness for a better world. Our main message is that it’s never too late to live your dreams or create new ones.”
The song “Deep” reflects a therapy session Lindsey had when she was going through a dark place in her life. “The refrain ‘How deep do I want to go?’ is a question I repeatedly asked myself as I contemplated questions my therapist asked me about my life and dreams,” explains Lindsey. “I believe the gift of any challenging time is that it forces us to go inward and reflect on our life. From this place we can have greater self-awareness, heal old wounds and reconnect to our core authentic self and life purpose. This is the deeper message of the song.”
“Trust (and Let Go)” further amplifies that message. “Sometimes we don’t have the answers to challenges we face, but you need to hold onto your faith and trust that everything will be okay in the end,” says Lindsey. “The composition ‘Dare to Dream Again’ was written to inspire people to do exactly what the title says. So often we lose our way or feel it’s too late to follow what our heart yearns for. The lyrics emphasize the importance of the power of choice in creating your own destiny and taking a leap of faith.”
“‘A New Day’ is a reminder that when we feel we are at a breaking point, we need to trust that a new day is coming,” explains Sean, who did all of the African background male vocals on this track aside from the bridge ad lib. “The Lyrics for ‘Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep’ were taken from two ancient bedtime prayers that ask for guidance. I used a humming angel chorus in the form of a waltz to create a soothing rocking motion like a lullaby. After some very challenging times in my life I was inspired to create ‘Onward to Glory’ which is about pushing through difficulties and trusting that a better future lies ahead. I went for a majestic sound to reflect a heroic journey. I envisioned swashbucklers on a sailing ship. This image re-occurred to me when I did an instrumental version of that song titled ‘Riding the Winds of Change’ with vibrant strings, brass and drums. ‘Moonlight Waltz,’ which is an instrumental version of ‘Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep,’ along with ‘A Journey Within,’ which is an instrumental version of ‘Deep,’ are built with harp rhythms featuring violin and cello on the former, and violin and oboe on the latter.”
“You Give Me Strength” was inspired by a thank you card given to Lindsey from a dear friend she had supported. “Both Lindsey and myself are extremely grateful to those people who have been there for us,” says Sean. “We wanted to have a song people could offer as a gift of thanks to anyone in their life who had supported them when they needed it the most.”
The song “Resonance” with the key ad lib ‘The power is within yourself’, aims to empower listeners by
telling them they are responsible for creating their own reality. Sean sang most of the male background vocals and one of the ad libs on this song. “According to ‘The New Thought Movement’ and such films as ‘What the Bleep’ and ‘The Secret,’” explains Lindsey, “the Law of Resonance states that whatever we attract into our life is determined by the resonating frequencies of energy that we put out, which means what we desire is affected by the power of our thoughts, attention and focus. ‘My Sacred Inner Child’ is about reconnecting with and nurturing that part of our psyche that remains childlike, innocent and playful and is often seen as our core true self, but which also holds old childhood wounds.”
From the age of 11 years, Lindsey trained in musical theatre at the Arts Educational School in the UK, the same school that Julie Andrews and Sarah Brightman went to. Lindsey performed professionally for a couple years in England and then decided to leave the theatre to teach. She later went back to school and got a BA honours degree in Psychology. She also completed a university arts course which included learning how songs are constructed. Since then she has also certified as a transformational life coach, Holotropic Breathwork facilitator, NLP Practitioner and motivational speaker. Today she is passionate about creating Unleashed Dreams music with Sean because it combines her love for the performing arts with her interests in life coaching and psychology.
Sean’s foray into songwriting began around the age of 10, when he took popular songs he’d learned and re-arranged them into medleys. By the age of 14 he had started to write his own songs, and by 16 he had created his own multi-track home recording studio and was recording his and other people’s music. At the age of 22, he got a contract in North Carolina, USA, producing music at Ultimix Records, the world’s most prolific remixing label at that time. There he worked on songs by Michael Jackson, Vanilla Ice, Black Box, 2 Unlimited, Digital Underground, Suzanne Vega/DNA and more. Sean then went on to work as part of a production team at DK Studios (formerly Sigma Sound) in New York City. At the age of 26 he returned to Canada and worked with guitarist Robert Michaels on two albums, one of which (Allegro) won the Juno award (Canada’s Grammys) in the “Best Instrumental Artist” category.
Sean also released two solo piano CDs -- Music for Dreams and Journeys and Discoveries. He also launched a radio station called listeneasy.com which made it to Number One on live365.com, and a second station, Celtica, which was listed at Number Two for all Celtic stations. Soon after this he began his own home recording support company, Home Recording Pro, which trained over 100 home recording studio clients across Ontario, Canada. In addition, he got a contract to create music training programs for VTC.com, which is an online music training company. He later took over a fledging singer/songwriter network in Toronto of just 17 members and helped it grow to over 1200. It was through this network that he met Lindsey. Sean also has been certified as a NLP Practitioner.
One of the special guests on the Unleashed Dreams album is singer George St-kitts, twice nominated for Canadian Juno awards in Best R&B/Soul category. He is also known for his stellar performances in the long-running Broadway musical “The Lion King,” and for playing Sammy Davis Jr. in “The Rat Pack.” Also on the recording is Ian Crichton, lead guitarist for award-winning Canadian rock band Saga, which has had Gold and Platinum albums worldwide selling more than eight million copies. Ian has also recorded several solo albums and has recorded with the rock band Asia. Cindiana Koeller, who studied and performed opera in Vienna, Austria, as well as many other countries, adds vocals to three tunes. The violinist is Maria Grigoryeva from Russia, who studied in the USA and has a Masters Degree from the Berklee College of Music. She founded the contemporary ensemble The Mini Orchestra of St. Petersburg and wrote an opera about mystic prophet Edgar Cayce. Sean and Lindsay sang many layers of background vocals on the album, but additional vocal accompaniment was provided by Michael Wiseman, Jeremy Voltz, Mikalyn Hay, Patrick Pandeli and Jenikz Rego.
“We try to write songs to empower a seeking soul,” states Lindsey, “and we are passionate about living our dreams no matter what!” Sean agrees, “Lindsey and I feel creating music together is another stage in reclaiming ourselves and our creative identities while also pursuing a larger purpose. Using her voice and my music it is our goal to inspire people to follow their own dreams, just as we are doing ourselves with Unleashed Dreams.”
