As I’m looking through Facebook this holiday season, I’ve seen a few comments about the stress and hustle and bustle and then a few others about how nice it is to have the peace and calm that comes with a day off on the holiday and “not having to worry” about what has to be done. Here are a few examples of comments I’ve seen: • I really love this joyous time of year! • It’s so great not having to focus on anything outside of what we love. • May you all feel the peace and love of Christmas in your heart this holiday season All of these statements made me think why not every day? What can we learn and take away from this holiday season and what can you carry forward with you through the entire year? Maybe it’s time to start learning to change up priorities and re-structure where we focus our energy. What could you do to bring joy into your life every day? How could you set aside a few minutes each day to just focus on all the things you love? What would help you bring the feeling of peace into your daily life? Many times, when I first start working with clients, their first answer is to say they don’t have time… they don’t have time to meditate, they don’t have time to do a gratitude journal and they don’t have time to find a few minutes of peace in each day… but what happens after I work with them for a while is that they realize that when they can learn to shift their mindset, taking time to do those few things actually makes life much easier. I often tell people as soon as you feel so rushed that you feel you don’t have time to meditate, that’s exactly when you need to meditate!! The first step is deciding what you’d like to see more of in your life. Would you like more peace and calm? Would you like more time to work out? Would you like more time with family?
