![]() The Internet fascinates me. We are all merging together via the worldwide web in a way previously unknown to humankind. Telecommunications on all levels has brought people together in ways undreamt of even twenty years ago. Our mass media world has magnified the faults and the kindnesses of the human race. Pornography, violence and cruelty are all there to be easily accessed, at the click of a button. But so are the fabulous groups espousing world peace, good causes, charities and light working. We have the ability to access each other immediately, across oceans. Our divides are falling as we realize that we are so very similar. We are at a massive crossing point in human existence and I believe that it is our role to now transform ourselves for the highest purposes of us all. The web reminds me of home, of the place where our spiritual souls reside. I believe that when we die we will be returned to energy and that we will exist less as individuals and more as a feeling, wholeness and as divine love. The Internet, in particular social networking, brings our minds together in that same way. It is almost as though we miss the conglomeration of souls so much that we have created better ways for us to be instantly accessible to each other. We need to connect and to be part of one another’s lives. It may materialize as curiosity, nosiness or even outright Facebook stalking, but essentially it stems from the desire to be accessible and close to our other parts… to all the other souls. It is through the Internet that we can really have some degree of freedom of speech. The Internet to date has exposed an awful lot of hard truths about our planet and I hope it will continue to do so. At present the Internet reflects both the dark and light side of human activity, but in the future, the near future, I am sure the Internet will help push social changes and revolutions forward in a way that is unparalleled. It is through the Internet that our better consciousness and our spiritual reality may start to proclaim itself. It is our last bastion of truth and the last place we can go to search for the voice of a mindset that has otherwise been silenced by the mainstream media. There is huge power in this. Just like the film, we may have to plug in to the Matrix, to help us to find our way out of it. Spiritual living has become my path, my challenge and my pleasure. It has been my mission to become spiritual on a daily basis, but without entirely negating my humanity. This has been difficult at times and hugely rewarding at others. On my path I have found that some people float around on an etheric spiritual cloud of otherworldliness and mystical superiority. To me that is a form of denial, liable to lead to hypocrisy and a resounding crash back down to earth. As spiritual beings we must embrace our humanity, whilst as human beings we should embrace our spirituality. It is about living to a potential that is only fulfilled when the sacred spiritual is allowed to dwell within a fallible human. Love is the key to all things and to your personal enlightenment. Feel it at all times and life just gets better. Alice Grist is the author of The High Heeled Guide to Enlightenment and The High Heeled Guide to Spiritual Living these books document the fascinating journey her search for spirit took her on. Life then stepped in, literally, and she became pregnant with her daughter, Ivy. This pregnancy is documented in the raw and deeply moving Dear Poppyseed, A Soulful Momma's Pregnancy Journal. This pregnancy was also featured on 2014's Sky Living show 'She's Having A Baby', episode 2. Alice most recently published a collection of all her articles (and some new ones) titled 'Sinsational'. Alice's four published books and extensive articles, (Huffington Post, Hello Giggles, The Conversation, Natural Health, The Daily Love, and more) stand as an open, warm, wise and comical reflection of the power of spirituality in real life. Alice posts spiritual guidance regularly to Instagram @alicegrist, Facebook @spiritualauthoralicegrist, You Tube @alicegrist and Twitter. www.alicegrist.co.uk |
