Introduction
You love unicorns! And who doesn’t love them! They’re majestic-looking creatures, peaceful and benevolent. They fart rainbows and are entirely the products of people’s flights of fancy. Actually, while I agree with you that unicorns are beloved (and rightly so!), unicorns are NOT creatures that are wholly fantastical. I know because I saw the unicorn appear before my very eyes… But hey, I’m the guy who co-wrote The Book of the Magical Mythical Unicorn. It’s fair to say that I’m not exactly a disinterested party here. I don’t ask you to trust me, someone who you’ve never met. Instead, I ask you to trust the evidence that my co-author Vakasha Brenman and I uncovered, which we attest is proof that the unicorn is real. The Unicorn in Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism I’m not a religious man, but I am a deeply spiritual one. I know that all of the major world religions (and many alternative ones) share aspects of the capital-T Truth. And that’s why I found it so incredible that the unicorn played a part in these world religions. I mean, in EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. For those of the Christian or Jewish faith, the unicorn appeared in the Tanakh (i.e. the Old Testament) nine different times. Nine times! Iraqi Muslims use special prayer beads known as “tears of the karkadann [unicorn].” Many Hindu gods, in particular Vishnu, have taken on one-horned avatars resembling the unicorn. And the Buddha’s mother herself had an appearance from the unicorn before Siddhartha Gautama’s birth. You may not believe that any of these religions contain the absolute truth (and that’s a discussion for another time), but why do ALL OF THEM reference the unicorn? And these aren’t the only mentions of the unicorn in these faiths either… The Unicorn and Ancient Cultures Some of us believe in the existence of Atlantis and Lemuria; some of us don’t believe in these ancient highly-advanced civilizations. However, all of us can agree that the civilizations of Sumer, Egypt, China, and the Indus Valley existed, with many of these cultures tracing back to least 6,000 years ago. And each of these cultures integrated the unicorn in prominent roles! The unicorn was a prominent feature in the art of Sumer and India. In China, the unicorn is said to have appeared to many of the earliest emperors, spearheading the forward progression of Chinese civilization. And in Egypt, there was even a hieroglyphic specific to the unicorn! With how little survives of these ancient cultures, isn’t it more than a bit fascinating that of what we have recovered, so much of it points to their direct interaction with the unicorn? The Unicorns and Prominent Individuals Have you ever heard of Genghis Khan? How about Julius Caesar? Does the name Alexander the Great sound familiar? All of these key historical figures have had DIRECT experiences with the unicorn. Multiple reputable sources have all confirmed this fact. So if Genghis Khan, Julius Caesar, and Alexander the Great all encountered the unicorn, and the unicorn existed for at least 6,000 years across all these ancient cultures, and every major religion has some link with the unicorn, then why haven’t I seen one? Why can’t we see unicorns at the zoo? Yes, you’re correct, unicorns are not CURRENTLY ever-present in our world, and there’s a reason for that, a reason that soon may very well be nullified… Conclusion I get it; I was once a skeptic too. But after the research my co-author and I did to write The Book of the Magical Mythical Unicorn, all of my skepticism evaporated. We believe that our book has all the necessary proof that unicorns are real. Not only is the unicorn real, but it will be playing a very critical role in the years ahead.
