Lucas Kitchen Salvation. It should not be complicated or confusing.
Longview, TX — October 2020 — In Naked Grace (Feb. 2020, Free Grace International) Lucas Kitchen shares his quest to unravel the confusion of what we have to do to be saved. The faith’s most important question, “What do I have to do to be saved?” Should have been easy to answer, though no one in the piney woods seemed to agree what that simple answer should be. Despite growing up in the buckle of the Bible belt, confusion about the Christian faith plagued every step of Lucas’ journey. In Naked Grace, Lucas Kitchen uses wit, humor, and visual storytelling to invite you to join his life-long quest for answers. This multi-decade pursuit took Lucas to some laugh-out-loud places. When the stakes were as high as they could be, the simple answer finally came. The true-life story in Naked Grace explores the confusion that many Christians quietly experience on a weekly basis. As this book demonstrates: just because they are quiet doesn’t mean they get it. This self-deprecating tale will resonate with anyone who has wrestled with unanswered questions and is dying to know the truth. About the Author: Lucas is an Amazon best-selling author with over twenty books written. His writing has been seen and heard by millions, through viral videos, radio, and books. Lucas' books have covered genres such as sci-fi, urban fantasy, memoir, biography, children's literature, Christian theology, and more. In addition to his writing career, Lucas is a filmmaker, pastor, and international speaker. He can also be heard weekdays on the syndicated radio show Grace in Focus. He holds a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies in Bible, psychology, and history/political science from Letourneau University. He has a Master of Theology from Liberty University. He lives in East Texas with his family. What People are Saying: A great autobiographical story about finding grace: I recently interviewed Lucas Kitchen on my One Verse Podcast about his book Naked Grace. In this book, he tells the story of how he discovered the truth about grace, and why it is so important for you and I to learn these truths as well. If you have questions about eternal life, the message of the gospel, what it means to follow Jesus as a disciple, or how grace helps us defeat sin in our lives, read his book. I guarantee his story will resemble parts of your own and will help you ask questions and find answers about the Gospel. Podcast host, Jeremy Meyers// 5.0 out of 5 stars Love this book! If you have ever questioned your salvation or struggled with contradictory teachings please read this book! You are not alone:) I have always felt so LOST and like I was missing something that everyone else was getting and feeling like what in the world is wrong with me?! Which led me to just not even trying to have a relationship with God at times or feeling such an inner battle that I couldn’t quite understand why I felt the way I did inside when it came to God. How comforting it was to find out that someone who grew up in a church his entire life and was so involved with the church even as a speaker, in leadership roles, and even went to seminary was just as frustrated and confused as I was before hearing the the gospel presented as it should be and the clear distinction between salvation and discipleship. Once I learned of this distinction my understanding of the Bible is so much clearer and my heart so much lighter! This book is surprisingly honest and laugh out loud funny! With a beautiful love story to top it all off!!! And the BEST Good news you will ever hear!!! Anonymous Reviewer // 5.0 out of 5 stars Captivating, humorous, and profound: I have a bad habit of picking up a book, reading a few chapters and then starting a new book. But, I read NAKED GRACE all the way through in one day. NAKED GRACE is a great personal story of a young man growing up in the Piney Woods of East Texas who is struggling with one of the most essential questions in Christianity: “What do I need to do to have eternal life?”. Lucas is a great writer who draws you into his life with vivid, humorous, and sometimes sweet stories. Because this book is story based, it is a great read for someone who is struggling with assurance of eternal life, but doesn’t want to read a “theology” book. Lucas is both. Anonymous Reviewer // 5.0 out of 5 stars Great book that you will want to read: This book made me laugh and reminded me of some of the things that I also went through in Church. It's a fun read and for me, I didn't want it to end. In this book he does a fantastic job of clarifying the Gospel so that anyone can understand. Also shows what many churches believe on the gospel. If you're looking for a cheap read that is fun, will make you laugh, then this is the one I recommend. Anonymous Reviewer // 5.0 out of 5 stars Roller coaster ride of authenticity, humor, and discovery. I really appreciate the way this books takes you on a journey. From the beginning to the end, the author views so many of his life's hinge points with the overarching theme of faith, grace, and the gospel. Also, with a lot laughs along the way! The exercise of pulling back the layers of life and examining the contents with humor and grace is something we all need to do a little more of. I appreciate the author's ability to ask the hard questions, and to be transparent through process of discovery and past failures. I highly recommend this book!
