We take on her flesh and bones, And with her nourishment, Shape our DNA to a form. We engage with the world, With patterns mimiced from her. She nourishes, grooms, develops our wings, To survive, thrive and fly. She compassionately shoulders our fledgling adolescence To break free of her nest. She then becomes a friend, Supporting our dreams, Even for this liberate-me quest. She strives to instill her life lessons, To lessen our falls, but the arrogance stripling in us, Sees it as a smothering thrust, and splits us To answer to one’s own call. She continues to love, be connected and As a mirror, reflects our unconscious patterns. But, do we keep running from her Perhaps running, from facing oneself ? All through the cruise of life, subconsciously, We miss her unconditional love. We keep seeking it though, Expecting others to fill in the hole.
