Fated To Live Thru' My Buried Self
When I am not in the present,
My mind is chugging and wallowing
with memories of the past,
Murakami says its the fuel
Burnt, to stay alive.
When I am not in the present,
and my mind is in fantasy
inevitably fabricated from some past,
but a memory again, burnt to stay alive?
Could I say it fills up the emptiness of my present?
I fill up my emptiness,
Whether in watching a movie
or a reality show,
Whether in following
a Celeb on social media,
even loving children having fun,
or empathizing with anyone’s
story of pleasure and pain.
So why do I thus fill up my emptiness,
Do they represent my un-expressed
sub-conscious in different ways?
Even when in love,
she is expressing or provoking that deep part of me,
I am not able to access within me.
Its our most compulsive calling,
to seek out our Subconscious,
We fill up our life with it,
that’s the fuel, that keeps us alive.
