David Essel Others, aren’t so sure about it.
The ones that believe everything happens for a reason sometimes will create answers to events they go through whether they’re valid or not, so that they can feel good that they had to go through the suffering for a reason . Others? Question if there’s any validity, like right now what could be the benefit of going through this pandemic that the world is going through? Great questions. For the past 30 years, number one best-selling author, counselor, master Life Coach and minister David Essel has been helping people to try to understand “, if everything indeed, does happen for a reason.“ Below, David shares a few thoughts that might be helpful for you today. “So does everything in life really happen for a reason? What about this pandemic? What would be the reason that this would happen, that this virus would spread globally taking the lives of so many people? What is your reason, if there is one, for this pandemic occurring? Early in my career, from 1980 until 1997, I believed wholeheartedly that everything happens for a reason… Until… I started working with people that were in great suffering, some who have suffered for their entire life and no matter how long I was with them there was no reason for their suffering that either of us could imagine. But the pandemic, might be a little different. So what could the personal reason, look in the mirror, what would the personal reason of this pandemic happening be related to you in your life? In our top selling book, “How to experience heaven on earth“, there’s a story about a man who used to love to run, and it was during his runs that he would get inspirational messages for his sermons, his books, his lectures and more. And when he hurt his knee and he couldn’t run that far anymore, he was questioning God. Why does this happen to me? When I treat my body like a temple, why do I have to get injured? Doesn’t God understand that I get inspiration via his thoughts when I run? As the story goes in the book, because he couldn’t run as far or as fast as he used to, one day he was trying to run the down slope of a bridge but his knee was too painful so we had to stop and walk… What normally took him 20 or 30 minutes to run was now over an hour… But he eventually saw that there was a reason for his pain. Because he couldn’t run as fast or as far, because he was running so slowly, he happened to be in a position of seeing an older gentleman trying to cross the road with busy traffic. Right before his eyes, he saw the man walk in the traffic and immediately got hit by a car and thrown 30 feet in the air. He was near the accident, he was the first one to arrive, and he saw this instantly: the reason why His knee was injured, he saw that he could be in this position, to help this person, before anyone else arrived. Now that, makes sense. What about this pandemic though? This virus? Here are a few reasons that you might be able to look at in regards to why this is happening to you personally: Number one. Financial budgeting. If you’ve never had a budget before, or you’ve never wanted to follow one, maybe the purpose of this pandemic is to get you to open your mind and start learning how to balance your expenses and your savings so that you don’t get into serious financial trouble. That might be one reason for this pandemic for you. Number two. Communication in a love relationship. Many couples today, according to our estimates about 80% of relationships are unhealthy, so just maybe this pandemic is allowing you and your partner to spend more time together, and if you take advantage of this time, maybe you can work through some issues you’ve never wanted to face with each other. Or, maybe you can learn how to start communicating more openly. Or, maybe you can learn during the stressful Times to be more compassionate with your partner, to be more patient, to allow them to be wrong without correcting them. Number three. To get in shape. Many people say they don’t have the time to exercise, but here we have many of us across the world with more time on our hands. So maybe this is the time, maybe one of the reasons for this pandemic, is to get you to exercise, or to eat healthier, on a daily basis. Number four. To rid ourselves of an addiction. Now this might seem strange, but we’re in the middle of an incredible stressful pandemic, wouldn’t it be a good time to look at the bad habits you have and with extra time on your hands reach out and get help to eliminate these bad habits? Number five. To get closer to God. Again, we have more time that maybe we need to practice meditation, or learn meditation, or learn how to pray on a daily basis, or learn how to write letters to God, or learn how to surrender to God‘s will. Number six. Is a new job on your horizon? Maybe you hated the job you’re currently in, and the pandemic is giving you time off to research what you’d really love to do, what you hoped to get involved with, that would bring joy into your life instead of stress that you might be experiencing in your current job. Number seven. Did you always want to take an online course? Did you want to learn how to become a life coach? A master gardener? Did you want to learn how to play guitar? Learn yoga? I would love for you to slow down and take a few minutes and explore what the reason might be for the pandemic in your life? If everything happens for a reason, I’m not sure if it does or not, but with this article let’s say that everything does happen for a reason, now we can look above at what we’ve written and decide that this is the life we’re going to live now, A transformed life, a healthier life and a happier life all due to the pandemic.
