The introduction to this amazing book begins, "In each day there is darkness and Light; this is the interplay of opposites working together to enhance our experience of multi-dimensional living. This awesome triptych is a fascinating combination of three different pieces of writing. A book, "Rosetta's Stone, a collection of 60 poems under the title, "Raising a Candle and lastly, an article, "How to be Spiritual Amidst this Chaos." All three pieces enphasize contrast darkness against light and attempt to give the reader tools to help get through chaotic times. Dr. Bitkoff sagely states: Beyond the Pain - So, if God/Light created everything in the universe that means God created pain, illness, death and all manner of natural calamities. And if men are God’s representative on earth and must make a moment by moment choice between Darkness and Light, why is life structured this way? The wise claim this friction exists to push us forward so we might transcend the day to day and embrace that which lies beyond this world of forms. And once this connection is forged, and love enters, it cannot easily be broken. Because everything around us is dark and tumultuous, we feel we are living in a dark period. According to those of great wisdom, we are preparing for transition from darkness to light. Currently we are suffering great fear and many are dying because of the pandemic. Millions are feeling threatened physically, emotionally and economically. Dr. Bitkoff has given us in the form of this book some songs to sing in our hearts and a reason for them. Enjoy the read!
