Rev. Devan Jesse Byrne As we go through life we are training ourselves to be in the certain characteristics which we have deemed for our person. Abilities that we see that we can turn off at times and turn on for these special occasions. Much like we think of meditation in this same fashion. Yet it is only while meditation is a practice yet to actually achieve what it is meant to offer. One will eventually not come from a place where meditation was not being done, then start meditating. There will not be a point in which meditation occurs and other points where meditation does not occur. Yet while it is a practice, it will seem as if this does happen. Much like sometimes calling for strength and some other times call for relaxation and rest. The actual purpose of what meditation offers is a mindset on an alternate dimensional like experience. So while you are practicing, you will feel as if in some way or another you are tuning out of these sensory perceptions. So that you can focus or find the space within, beyond them. As you begin to develop a mastery of this meditation you will start to notice that it is a way of thinking in which corresponds with every form and framework of activity. That while the activities begin and end, meditation is continuous. An awareness of something beyond activities. An awareness beyond sensory perception. We all have ears to hear and yet we do not train these ears to hear something beyond hearing. We all eyes to see and yet we have not trained these eyes
to see something beyond seeing. We all have skin to feel and yet we have not trained this skin to feel something beyond feeling. It is in this way are we training our minds to experience beyond experiences, beyond sensory perceptions. A recognition of a reality that has always been. And yet to our awareness it seemed to have been misplaced. It seemed to be missing. To begin to practice a sense of meditation is a willingness and a desire to show that you want to know. That you want to remember. While it does seem that the world is so busy and life is always changing, to accept this position of dedication to discover something beyond things, a peace beyond peaceful living, a love beyond what any relationship has to offer. In which the revelation of this truth through personal dedication and personal experience is it revealed. While some forms of meditation are more prominent than others, some more relaxing than others, all of them are in different degrees of training the mind of this truth. And regardless of the degree in which you are attempting to apply it, you are applying the journey, the dedication, the willingness. While it might seem you have years to come and you can always do it later, the actual achievement of meditation is not something done in time but with time. Something done outside of time within the confines of time. While the life you live seems to stop for a moment as you focus on the eternities beyond, the existence beyond your body, beyond your physical life you emphasize it in your mind to focus and make it more prominent in your experience. So even that state of it being continuous is not a struggle and does not require effort. For as soon as you recognize what and where meditation is attempting to discover and reveal it is a natural state in your being. There is the person here of sensory perceptions consisting of memories which these perceptions offer and then there is a self beyond self. There is a being beyond sensory perceptions. An existence beyond memories. In which is here palpably available within your own being. That is through meditation in which this is being discovered. While no specific practice in itself is required, this discovery, this recollection is to say inevitable, a natural occurrence through the creation of your own existence. One will always discover and remember the truth of their being. So as you begin to meditate we start a new journey, a skill in which you might say you don’t have, and you make it somewhat challenging to discover and to achieve. You will be confronted by yourself. These voices in your head that tell you so many things. Their reference to their thoughts only have to do with what the sensory perceptions offer. Things you can see, they will talk about them. Things you can hear, they will talk about all of them. Things you can feel, they will be talked about. Things you can smell, a nice topic of conversation. Things you can taste, lots of things to talk about. The memories of the past events of these things and the future possibilities of what these could eventually reveal, and yet the discussion in your mind. While it seems to be so justified about all of these things, it’s simply doing one thing, keeping you from recognizing that other self. Even while it is doing this by your asking, offering you what you have wanted, there was a time you wanted to be distracted from this reality of yourself. And now as you are in it seeking to discover your true nature of your being again, its thoughts about objects, about situations, about dramas, about history, about what could be have no use to you. So, every time you sit down you dedicate a moment within this time to discovering and recalling and experiencing for yourself this reality of who you are. It could be called the sacred time. For in your search, in your dedication, in your willingness to discover the only thing in which could be considered wholly. To say it is the only thing that remains whole. It is no tiny minute of your day, regardless of if it is only a minute. It is no small effort, regardless of how distracted you are. Regardless of how much you put into it, the immensity of the purpose of this will save eons from your circular reincarnation situation. It is the point in which you can break this chain. The point in which you can stop this ripple of cause and effect. It is the point in which you discover the responsibility which began it all. Also as the responsibility to cease it all. If you are here you feel the call. You feel the burning, the desire. Even while its event is beyond all desire, beyond all sensations of feeling and intuitions. These things guide you, even as they do in your day today, to fulfilling to what it is you desire beyond desires. What it is you choose beyond choices. That of a desire that brought about the ability to desire. That of a choice that brought abilities to choose. That of an existence that brought about a seeming existence of any form. Anyone that is truly dedicated in this discovery will succeed. Anyone that truly desires this cannot fail. Anyone that chooses to know their reality again is bound to know their reality again. It may first require a sense of questioning. A thinking that there’s got to be something more than this life. There’s got to be something more greater than what this world has to offer. There’s got to be something more advanced than this body. And you feel that. You hear that. It calls to you. It pulls to you. Then you are ready to take the next step, continuing forward in discovering your reality. |
