Installment Warriors

Dr. Stewart Bitkoff   Here’s to all the installment paying warriors who go to work each day, day after day, to pay the monthly bills for the many things they need and were taught to need.   Consider what you would do, if you didn’t have to go to work every day, having the situation where there were large blocks of free time? You know it wasn’t always like this- a 40 hour week. Consider the ebb and flow of a farming or a hunting culture. Yes. There was hard work, some times from morning until dusk, but it was seasonal or as needed with large periods of free time.   In some ways, many of us traded away our freedoms for a car, house in the suburbs and countless other ‘necessary possessions.’ Purposefully, we were taught to see the world this way.   So here’s to you- the installment payment warriors- who are unsung heroes. Working daily, 5 days a week, for 20 and 30 years to meet those bills. God Bless. I know how exhausting it can be. -SB
