The Tapestry of Relationships
We are the values and tastes we wear-
Not all-encompassing, never whole.
What we lack, we seek elsewhere,
Drawn to difference, made complete,
Finding belonging in the world’s embrace,
Thus are friends and lovers born.
We savor together, live as one,
Exchanging flavors of the soul,
Growing through shared experience,
Integrating what was once apart.
We rise- Selves becoming higher selves,
Two new Selves, more evolved beyond
who we once were.
Yet as we climb, our tastes may part,
Values evolve, and distance grows.
Without the acceptance of mutual change,
stuck in equations of the past,
The chemistry of growth may fade,
And bonds, once golden, will break.
Is it unnatural, the tearing of old ties?
If they no longer mirror who we are,
How can they remain unchanged?
New energies always circle near,
Drawn to the new selves,
we have now become.
Still, some bonds do last—
when there’s awareness, respect,
and a willingness,
to grow each other and grow together.
Those become Golden,
Mirrors to each other,
Twin flames,
For all the days to come.
