![]() The Elemental Goddess Oracle is a deck that combines the Chinese 5 Elements and the Western 4 Elements. They focus on the elemental healing of the Divine Feminine, restoring balance. The interplay of two very different cultural models of elemental theory creates interesting friction, revealing many similarities and some fundamental differences, which I find to be very, very Yin. It is deeply mysterious and impossible to fully comprehend. I read this in the 5 Element spread of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water; I began with Earth for this one; normally, we would start with Wood in the five Elements.
![]() I did an Elemental Goddess Oracle reading for Mama Gaia a few days ago and have been thinking deeply about what came up. It was really interesting; I hadn’t done this kind of reading before. Mother Earth is in such a defining time, and as we enter the Age of Aquarius, the time of the Divine Feminine, it is apt that our mother has words to speak and words to hear us say. I offer up this reading in loving bliss, a tribute to the material plane woven from the Elements of Everything. Because she is Earth, I began with Earth; typically, I would start with Wood. Earth in the 5 Elements represents harvest, late summer, work, rest, and play. The card was The Goddess of Serene Acceptance. Earth embodies both elements. She is “calm to the core” and speaks about acceptance of what is. Her emotions include Disapproval, Anxiety about the future, Protection, and Preparation. She indicates that Disapproval, whether from others or oneself, is not conducive to growth and learning. Accept what is, warts and all; work with it to improve, be prepared, and this will make you better protected and thus less anxious about the future. She affirms that you walk your own path, prepared and protected, and answer only to yourself. The next element is Metal, which represents the Chinese element for Autumn, grief, regret, and guilt. The card was The Goddess of Old Ghosts, Metal in 5 Elements, and Air in the Western elements. Air is about voice, communication, and speaking up. Her emotions are Grief and Letting go. It embodies the deepest grief, a loss that has shaped your life. This Goddess helps us to finally let go, reminding us that it’s time to stop filtering our worldview through the lens of loss. You owe it to those you have lost to begin to live again. She affirms that you can let go and find peace. ![]() Water is the next element. Five Element Water represents Winter, fluidity, renewal, and wisdom. The Goddess of the Shining Sea was the card, embodying play and love, reflecting the sensual side of a sensory existence. Her emotions include Intimacy, Anxiety, Welcome, and Essential. She is also Water in the Western elements, which signifies flow and emotions. This Goddess emphasizes the ownership of your body, the enjoyment of it, and the importance of relaxing anything that holds you back from experiencing sacred sexuality, asserting that your pleasure and ownership of this are essential. She says, “wash away and wash in.” ![]() Wood was next, which in the five elements represents Spring, rebirth, new growth, new ideas, and creation. The Goddess of Liberation embodies Wood and Fire in the Western elements, which is an interesting combination; she says wood can build or burn. Her emotions are Passivity and Potency, and her message is one of freedom, sovereignty, and building a new future. She exhorts us to burn away the cage of old wood that has confined us to a pose we no longer wish to maintain. This includes sexual potency; have we asked for what we want from intimate partners? It’s about no longer passively tolerating or accommodating other people's desires and needs while neglecting our own on all levels. ![]() Lastly, Fire, representing Summer among the five elements, embodies heat, passion, purpose, love, and strong emotions. The Goddess of Universal Forgiveness symbolizes both Fire and Air, which in Western thought relates to communication. Her emotions include Forgiveness, Compassion, and Truth, and she emphasizes the importance of forgiving to avoid carrying the burdens associated with other people's behavior. She conveys that by forgiving, you are not absolving anyone, and you will ensure you remain protected in the future, acknowledging the potential harm from others while releasing that weight. It is not yours, and it is not your truth. ![]() It was a beautiful spread. The themes of sacred sexuality and ownership of your own body arose multiple times, which, in this time of the rising of the Divine Feminine, holds deep meaning. It’s time to move away from the repression of women's sexual magic and power, and time for us to embrace our Divine Goddess selves with all the deeply creative, orgasmic power we possess. The Earth aspect of calm acceptance also speaks about letting go of disapproval—both your own and others’—because pathfinders break all the rules, and we are all pathfinding right now. I found it profoundly moving that the Goddess of Old Ghosts came into the spread because she is the mother who has lost a child and must learn how to live again after deep loss. The theme of forgiveness is powerful too; we can’t move on until we have wiped the slate clean. This is Mama Gaia’s time, her time to evolve herself and all of us simultaneously. A huge undertaking, perhaps the most important one of her whole existence. Here we are to help her.
