![]() Paranormal Perspectives: Where the Spirit Led by Brad Burkholder (https://www.6th-books.com) A must-read for anyone interested in paranormal phenomena—a superb addition to anyone's paranormal reading list. G.L Davies, author of Haunted: Horror of Haverfordwest What does it mean to have aspects of another’s soul? What does it mean to have aspects of another’s soul? Perhaps you should know—you have them. So does everyone. In fact, plenty of people have aspects of our souls.
I have no idea what a soul looks like, but to illustrate how aspects work, let’s imagine that the soul is liquid and that we carry it around in a big bucket. Friends and family members usually have aspects of one another’s souls. It’s as if we go around with our buckets of liquid soul and a small dipper, ladling some of our soul into their buckets as they ladle some of their souls into ours. We have traded aspects. The trading of aspects allows us to share one another’s earthly experiences on a plane higher than earth. Also, the shared aspects strengthen the bonds between us on earth. We can trade aspects back and forth even while alive on earth; it happens on that higher plane, but we’re likely to experience some correspondence to the trade here on this plane. We have aspects of people in we don’t even know, and In some cases we’ll eventually meet those people. We also have aspects of people in the past. For example, if I possess an aspect of Shakespeare, I also possess an aspect of everyone Shakespeare was in his own past lives. Thus, I possess aspects of Dante, Virgil, Luke, Quintus of Smyrna, Homer, Raphael, etc. I gain something from each of those aspects. We all embody aspects of probably thousands of lives from the past. An important advantage of sharing aspects is that we also share wisdom on the soul level, the kind of wisdom we gain mostly through karma. Sharing lessons learned helps us all move forward in life more efficiently. Karma’s purpose is to teach us, not to punish us, and lessons learned vicariously allow us to speed ahead without having to deal with karma. Karma is a pathway out of the human mess we’re in. Karma presents us with both good and frustrating things. A student of life considers both to be lessons, and with each lesson learned, we retire a bit of karma. Once we run out of karma, we step out of this labyrinth of life and reincarnation, evolving onto another plane of existence, closer to God, surely superior to life on earth. Are people with great wealth experiencing good karma? Maybe. Maybe not. In Luke, Jesus says: “How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” Having wealth isn’t necessarily bad. There are people who have great wealth and use it generously for the benefit of others. But being greedy is bad. Greed is selfishness and haughtiness. The selfish person assumes superiority over others, which ironically diminishes the soul, essentially making the haughty person less than, not more than. In seeing that person, we see someone who is on his way to God, yet likely is not at the point of evolution that his soul is ready to graduate to a higher plane. Someone of lesser wealth, someone the greedy person would never trade places with, is the kind of person whose soul might be ready to ascend. Success of the investment portfolio and success of the soul are two very different things. I recently heard someone refer to a young couple as being “very successful.” Of course, that meant they both make big money, have a house in a snooty neighborhood, drive unnecessarily extravagant cars and take trips to exotic places—and they probably wouldn’t fit through the eye of a needle. Here’s a true success story. Shakespeare’s contemporary, Christopher Marlowe, was a fine writer—and a pedophile. About two hundred years later he returned as Lord Byron, another writer whose biography is full of excesses that complicated his existence. He died young and returned as Oscar Wilde, yet another celebrated writer with more excesses, more complications, eventually landing him in prison. Wilde returned as the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, who was actually described as Byronic and died at 39 following an epic drinking spree. What did each of these incarnations have in common? Ramoth calls it self-sabotage. Each had enormous talent and brought gifts to the world through writing, but each victimized himself through unfortunate decisions that delayed his soul’s advancement. Each man, despite fame, was a victim, not a student. However, Dylan Thomas came back. I know him now although he has no idea of his past lives. He doesn’t write. He has done nothing to bring himself fame. He has worked diligently, bought a modest house, reared a family and acted charitably in his community. I doubt that many people envy him, but in this life, he is successful. He broke the pattern of his previous lives of self-sabotage, and his soul has advanced. He is a greater man than the more famous men he has been. A final fact about our souls is that they can exchange bodies. This sounds outlandish, but according to Ramoth, it does happen. When a body gets a new soul, Ramoth calls the phenomenon a “walk-in.” A walk-in allows a soul weary with life a chance to bail out while allowing another soul that has work to do on earth but does not need the childhood experience to step into a body. One method that helps me conceptualize the soul and some of its doings is to image that it’s a person buying a brand new car. The soul is the purchaser; the car is the body. It’s conceivable that a person might buy a new car and drive it for its entire lifetime, until it just doesn’t have another mile to give. The driver abandons that car, so to speak. That represents the death of the body. The driver is just fine, though, and gets a new car. That’s reincarnation. Another option is to drive the car for a few years and then sell it. When that happens, the driver passes the car to a new driver. From the car’s perspective, that’s a walk-in. Yvonne and I walked in together as a couple once, just briefly, and apparently in order to assure a particular outcome. In a regression she saw us bundled in furs, passengers in a horse-drawn sleigh moving urgently over snow to a great palace where a ball was taking place. We were high-level prisoners, a king and queen, probably. Guards led us into a room to await our “host,” who appeared to be Peter the Great. When he arrived, he abruptly asked if I was ready to meet his demands. I said: “Sir, you are a coward and a worm.” He motioned. We were hustled into another room and murdered. Yvonne believes that we walked into those lives just before they faced the tyrant so as to keep them from losing courage and caving in to his demands. What I find most interesting about the experience is that the expression “a coward and a worm” had been randomly popping into my mind for several years. After Yvonne’s regression, though, it stopped.
