![]() Barbara Berger Feeling overwhelmed and a high level of stress? Many of us do today as we try to deal sensibly with the constant, non-stop bombardment of information coming at us from all directions, telling us what we “should” do and what we “shouldn.t” do. So yes, many of us are suffering from the stress of what I call non-stop information overload. So what can we do about this? Is there, in fact, anything constructive we can actually do about all this? And yes, I think there is something we can do about all this because each one of us has what I call an “Inner Compass”! And by the Inner Compass, I mean, each one of us has our own, unique, personal internal guidance system which is our direct connection to the Great Universal Intelligence which created this entire Universe and everything in it, including you and me. And the good news is that this Inner Compass can help us deal with and sort through the massive amounts of information we are all receiving and determine what is actually in alignment with who we truly are and what isn’t. Once we realize that we each have an Inner Compass and remind ourselves of this very cool fact, we can relax a little more because it makes it easier to know that we can actually deal with the information overload we are facing each and every day. So now you might be wondering how does this internal guidance system actually work? Well, simply put, the Inner Compass gives us guidance by means of our emotions. In other words, the Inner Compass is a feeling mechanism. Yes, it’s a feeling barometer, which means the Inner Compass gives us here and now guidance when making choices by means of our emotions. So in short, when we feel good, when we feel a sense of ease and flow in our lives, when we feel joy and enthusiasm in life, when we feel love and passion, these good-feeling emotions are an indication or signal from our Inner Compass that we are in alignment with the Great Universal Intelligence and with our True Selves. And when we feel less than good, when we feel a sense of discomfort or unease or are frustrated, or anxious and distressed in any way, then these negative emotions are all indications or signals from our Inner Compass that we are out of alignment with the Great Universal Intelligence that created us and out of alignment with our True Selves. So that’s what the Inner Compass is all about. It’s all about understanding the true meaning of our emotions. And understanding that our emotions are giving us guidance each and every day in every situation. But the problem is, because most people don’t even know they have an Inner Compass, it makes it pretty hard for us to listen to and evaluate the information we are receiving because we don’t realize the true meaning of our emotions. But when we realize our emotions are signals coming from our Inner Compass and are giving us valuable guidance – we start to see things in a new light and we begin to understand how valuable the information our Inner Compass is providing us with truly is. In other words, we begin to realize that our emotions are far more important indicators of what’s going on in our lives than most of us realize. Ask yourself whether or not you are feeling a sense of ease and flow or are feeling discomfort and resistance. And remember when you feel good, when you feel a sense of well-being – you know that you are in harmony with the great flow of Life that is manifesting in and through you. In other words, you are in harmony with the Great Universal Intelligence that is flowing through you. When this happens, you feel so amazing, you feel so good, you feel so happy! But when you are feeling resistance, discomfort, tension, unease, then it’s time to stop up and look at what you involved with that is not in alignment with you and your True Self. So yes, this is why our emotions matter! And this is why your emotions are significant. Because they are telling you where you are in relation to Your True Self – in relation to the real you that is either living in harmony with the great flow of Life – or not. Negative emotions are telling you that you’re off course! So it’s important to notice, listen and feel! And remember, the better you feel, the better something feels, the more in harmony with Life and the Great Universal Intelligence you are! And the less good you feel, the more discomfort you feel, the more you are off course. So remember to ask yourself – am I feeling good feeling emotions or unpleasant feeling emotions? What is going on with me right here and right now. And always move towards the good-feeling emotions because they are the way in which the Great Universal Intelligence is saying to you – loud and clear – You're on the right track... you are on the right track... now go for it!
