From the 15-book series, The Archangel Chronicles. Ginger processes her Karasjok experience.) Chapter 4 A Babbling Brook A Bit of Heaven It took Ginger a moment or two to adjust to the the sudden change of place. She found herself seated on a grassy knoll that led down to a creek, similar to the creek she used to visit in her life. As Ginger listened to the soothing sounds of the brook, she watched in fascination as the rills deftly flowed over rocks and pebbles as it moved ever onward. Ginger relaxed, grateful that something that had provided her with so much solace in her last life, appeared at this point. Snapping herself back to the present, she quickly looked around to reassure herself that Barachiel had not abandoned her. Relief flooded her when she saw the archangel sitting next to her, smiling. “Thank you for watching over me,” Ginger said softly. “We are a team,” Barachiel replied. “Team members watch out for each other. Thanks are not necessary, but are appreciated.” The angel paused, peering at her charge. “Tell me. Do you have complete memories of our time in Karasjok?” Ginger’s eyes filled with unshed tears, and nodded. “I will never forget that visit. It touched my heart – Elias, Áhkku, the reindeer, the Northern Lights – all of it.” “I am happy for you,” Barachiel replied. “What did you learn?” When Ginger looked confused, the archangel continued. “A quest is not much of a quest unless great learning and wisdom come as a result. So, take a moment and think. What did you learn?” Ginger nodded, and sat in silence for a long moment. Finally, she spoke. “I learned interesting facts about Norway and the Northern Lights and the Land of the Midnight Sun. I learned that reindeer can’t eat carrots, so axe that Santa tradition! But I know that’s not what you mean. It’s important to me that I figure out how to describe the feelings running through me right now.” Again, the young girl paused in thought. “I loved learning about the Sámi community, and that they have been there for 2,500 years. I loved learning about their belief system. I know this may sound weird, but I felt as if somehow, their beliefs match mine.” “What have I learned? Through conversations with Elias and Áhkku, I better understand my life experience as a Star Child. Knowing that Áhkku is also an Indigo, gives me great comfort. I know now that I wasn’t just different from the others around me, but that this differentness was a sacred task that I had agreed to take on before that lifetime.” “I used to view myself in terms of Why can’t I be like the other kids? Why do I stick out so much? I confess there were many days when I just wanted to fit in.” “What you call differentness, Ginger, I call uniqueness. And now what are your thoughts?” “Although my Indigo lifetime is over, I think I will continue to embrace and cherish my uniqueness. It was shocking to learn that I had agreed to be part of that early group of humans that would lead the way to expand human Consciousness. In a way, that makes me a pioneer of sorts!” Barachiel smiled. “What you call pioneer, I call Wayshower. You were one of many who came to show humanity the way. But let’s move to the practical. Had you understood what you know now while in that lifetime, would it have changed your human experience?” Ginger gazed at Barachiel for a long moment. Finally, she smiled. “I’m just guessing here, mind you, that most Wayshowers don’t often have the gift of seeing the effect we have on others – other than standing up against bullies and finding the emotional and physical blows transferred to you! I tend to think we pioneers are so busy pioneering that we don’t often recognize our uniqueness, and see only our differentness.” Ginger paused, suddenly unsure. “But that might only be my experience, and not others. Maybe I’m just weird.” Barachiel chuckled. “Well, seeing as this discussion is all about you, your thoughts are crucial to your understanding. Again, what you call weird, I call heroic. You lived your life on your terms, no matter the cost. You stood up for others who could not stand up for themselves. Your very life opened the eyes of those around you that perhaps, just perhaps, there might be a Higher Perspective from which to view the chaos of Earth. The definition of a hero is a person admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. In my mind, Ginger, that definition fits you to a tee. You are a hero!” Suddenly, Ginger was staggering under an enormous trophy with the word HERO atop it. Giggling, she gently placed it on the ground. “Well done, Ginger. But if I may, I would broaden that description of yourself to fit many kids. It is a part of normal human development to want to fit in more and feel the resulting peer acceptance. All kids want to feel seen and valued, and often struggle with this, regardless of whether or not they are Star Kids.” “I agree. I don’t need trophies and be celebrated as a Child from the Stars, here to help raise human Consciousness, but to be celebrated because I’m just me.” Barachiel smiled. “I would whole heartedly agree, but oftentimes, Star Kids need extra support and understanding – especially as a young child trying to survive this rough and tumble 3rd Dimensional planet!” Ginger nodded. “Elias is blessed to have such a support system around him with his father and grandmother – and whole community!” “Yes, but remember, no one made you become a Star Child – not God or the Universe – it was your choice. After your previous life, you had a burning desire to be a part of The Great Earth Experiment, so you leapt at the chance to return as a Star Child.” “Great Earth Experiment?” “As you have learned, we are all One – archangels, humans, galactics, beloved pets like Sadie, boulders, flowers, trees – everything! But for the vast amount of humanity, a veil of forgetfulness was placed over that understanding during the process of incarnation. The Great Earth Experiment was designed by the Creator to allow humanity to work to dispel the veil, and as One, shift into the Age of God.” Ginger considered Barachiel’s words. “I know you’re an angel, and in my short lifetime, even I knew that angels have the tendency to be all lovey-dovey and Kum Ba Yah, but looking around this messed-up world, that experiment seems doomed for failure.” “I know it doesn’t look like it, but humanity has already begun the shift. For example, even though War still plays out on your planet, more and more humans are clamoring for Peace. And speaking of War, what did you learn about the about the Sámi people of Karasjok when the brutal Nazi Concentration Camps were built in the heart of the deeply spiritual community? They did not react to the horrors they witnessed, but responded.” Barachiel paused, picked up Ginger’s hand, and softly asked, “How, Ginger? How did they respond?” “Áhkku said that they stood in their deep power and met the hatred and brutality with Love and Compassion.” Again, Ginger’s eyes filled with tears. “How is that really possible, Barachiel?” “After 2,500 years, the Sámi community was deeply connected to each other and the rest of humanity, including the Nazis, as hard as that may be to understand. You can live your lives one of two ways, Ginger – in Fear or Love. Choosing Love lifts your vision to a Higher Perspective – and like viewing a chessboard from 6 feet above, it give you a clearer understanding – the Big Picture – the macrocosm – and you can respond. You recognize that there is a Divine Plan, even though you cannot see such a plan.” “And that’s what the Sámi community chose. But, also remember, it’s easier to stand up for what is right when you have the support of the loving, spiritual community behind you.” “But make no mistake, my precious child, that before incarnating for your last lifetime, it was your choice to not only take on the task of a Star Child, but to do so without that deeply spiritual, loving support. Yes, your parents and brothers loved you dearly, but they didn’t understand how to support this task you had chosen. You were very brave then, and you continue to showcase that courage by knocking on Archangel Michael’s door to beg him to consider using you to help kids. Trust me, that doesn’t happen on a regular basis!” Even with Barachiel’s words, Ginger still looked unconvinced. “But visiting Norway, I wasn’t able to help others – Elias and Áhkku helped me!” “Hmm. Are we done with our quest, then, Ginger? One stop and we’re done? There’s a reason that a quest is a journey –a marathon – and not a sprint. Be patient. Your time will come!” Barachiel wisely gave the girl time to absorb her wisdom. Finally, she asked, “And Áhkku. Will you visit her after her gracious invitation to return? Did you understand that she is offering to support and develop your spiritual gifts?” Ginger’s eyes widened. “I thought I was just returning to visit. How could I possibly turn down such an incredible offer? Once our quest is over, if you and Michael don’t mind, I would love to learn more from Áhkku. I am especially drawn to joiking, and would like to understand more. She and I seemed to bond through our Indigo connection.” Barachiel smiled. “There is more than an Indigo bond between you and Áhkku, Ginger. It will be fascinating to watch you to continue to unfold your beautiful petals and bloom!” “So, I’m not going to lose our own connection by returning to Áhkku?” “You and I also share a deep bond, Ginger, but you will understand that more down the road.” She paused and stood. “Now, my precious Star Child, are you ready for the next stop on our journey?” Ginger grinned. “You bet!” And within a soft whooshing sound, Barachiel and Ginger disappeared.
