Patrice Watley Williams/Poetic Lyricist   Spiritual Cake   We’re always searching and sifting through the guidelines of life   An endless probe to a beginning we need so desperately   As I gather the ingredients to bake this cake   I’ve placed the bowl to gather and the spoon to stir   The congregation enters the sanctuary in prayer   As I pour in the butter, sugar, and eggs. I feel a sense   Of faith and peace leading to salvation   A sense of gratitude as temptation leaves my body   Continuing to add more to the bowl   As God removes demons from my soul   Flour, salt, and baking soda   The longsuffering is no more   With the Christian values that have been embedded spiritually   I have been given the power to overcome all   And all I did was follow the instructions   As I put the Finishing touches to an unbelievable taste   That will never add pounds to your waist   But will rid you of toxins and impurities.   I’ve mixed them all with gentle stirs and added a pinch of love and grace.   Poured them into the pan   I’m placing them and entrusting them to the most powerful hands   The oven is hot, but have no doubt and no fear   God has cooled all and is ready and waiting for you to give him all praise   As he adds so much to your life   And has given you endless possibilities   And continues to provide more.
