We live in a Mental Universe

Barbara Berger   Even though we live in challenging times – the truth is we also live in exciting times because Science—more specifically Quantum Physics—has proven what the Mystics and Metaphysicians throughout history have long proclaimed. We human beings are bundles of information and energy, living in a swirling sea of infinite energy. We are in truth, Creatures of Light, as the Mystics long have described us.    Scientists have delved into the nature of matter (what we ordinary folk call reality) and found, according to quantum physics, that matter is made up of atoms which are made up of clouds of subatomic particles. These subatomic particles are actually waves of energy, which are so small that their existence has only been verified by the trails they leave behind in particle accelerators.    Probably the most interesting aspect of the quantum field is that these waves of energy only become particles (localized events in time and space) when they are observed. In other words, these waves of energy which make up the entire universe only come into existence when they are observed (as Einstein suggested at the beginning of the last century) by us human beings. This not only means that the quantum field responds to the observer, it means that everything we call the physical world is, in fact, a response to and of the observer!      A Mind-Boggling Discovery This is quite a mind-boggling discovery, isn't it? Just think about what this actually means: Particles only come into existence when we pay attention to them. In other words, human consciousness not only influences the quantum field we live in; human consciousness is actually the creator of the events that are taking place in this field. And not only that—by changing the focus of our attention, we can also change the field of information and energy we live in. In short, the quality of our thoughts and the focus of our attention have the power to influence and organize the infinite field of information and energy we are a part of.    Now what does this mean?   Plastic to Our Thoughts This means quite simply that we live in a universe, which is plastic to our thoughts. In other words, the universe is responsive to our thoughts, attention and intentions. You could say: We live in a mental universe.    If this is true, it also means that the old "materialistic" interpretation of reality, i.e., the idea that the universe was out there, outside of us, separate from us and doing “stuff” to us, is simply not true. There is no universe or reality "out there" which is separate from us—which is somewhere else, doing things to us like controlling our lives and determining our destinies.    Unfortunately for most people, the collective consciousness hasn't yet caught up with and digested the discoveries of modern science. But the truth of the matter is that quantum physics long ago proved that the Nature of Reality is quite different from what most people today still base their lives, their opinions... their very existence on.    In other words, if you believe that you live in a materialistic universe, which is doing things to you—if you believe there is an "objective reality" out there which is separate and independent from yourself—you are living in an illusion. You are making your decisions and living your life according to an obsolete and outdated worldview that is incorrect. And not only is this worldview incorrect, it does nothing to enhance your life or your reality.    In fact, this outdated and incorrect materialistic view of the universe is robbing you of your true power.    When you understand the Nature of Realty, you will see that the truth of the matter is that you have far more power than you ever dreamed of.    The truth of the matter is that we all live in a mental universe.    The truth of the matter is that you are a co-creator.    The truth of the matter is that you are creating this universe as you go along.    If you can grasp this, it will revolutionize your life.               ___   The good news is this means that if we live in a mental universe and we learn to control our minds and direct our attention, we gain power over the so-called "outer world" and so-called "outer events".
