The Screen

Dr. Stewart Bitkoff   I remember a time when there was no internet and computers. No screens to sit in front of for hours. Some will call this the old days- Yes. I remember them well. There was a time when we didn’t even have a television. A time when there was a battery operated radio and our own imagination. In those days- my gosh- what did people do in their spare time. First of all- there was spare time- unlike today- where everyone is rushing around from one chore to another to keep the consumption train going. Well we sat still, used our imagination, we listened to the radio, we talked to each other, did our chores, and went outside to see what was happening and to be with others. Well, today we don’t go outside much- there is the screen to capture our attention and show us what we want. In some ways, another prison constructed by the forces that have captured and tamed us. O you think I am being dramatic and a conspiracy nut- well you need to go deeper on this and perhaps realize- that you have been trapped by what others want you to think, consume and spend your time doing. In part, running and avoiding the inner journey- that is designed to set you free and experience who you really are and how you have come here to interact and create with others and the Higher Destiny. The computer screen, while it can be helpful, has been turned against us in some ways- use it but use it wisely- it can be as dangerous as any illegal drug or vice. O spiritual traveler, rise higher- you are a child of the universe and Light. Embrace your inner journey to rise Higher. -SB
